The Hualing National Second Class Port was opened in November 1998. It is now located in the Hualing Market Building Materials Export-import Base of Urumqi, and is affiliated to Xinjiang Hualing Industry and Trade (Group) Co., Ltd., which is guided and managed by the Port Office of the Autonomous Region, the Municipal Port Office and the Urumqi Customs and other units. It consists of the Xinjiang Hualing Port Trading Co., Ltd, Xinjiang Hualing Measuring and Weighing Co. Ltd. The Second Class Port serves Chinese and foreign merchants through multiple modes of road transportation, supplemented by railway and air transportation.

The Hualing National Second Class Port is now relocated to the Hualing Market Building Materials Export-import Base in Midong District with superior geographical location and convenient transportation. The area of the supervision warehouse is 44800 square meters, and the foreign trade shops are 14933 square meters, of which the supervision warehouse construction area is 10998 square meters, a total of 95, and with 3666 square meters of the foreign trade shops, a new joint inspection hall.

 Now personnel of Urumqi Customs, Urumqi International Road Administration and other units have been dispatched in the port, that means the work of on-site customs declaration and inspection, customs clearance becomes more faster and convenient, and a number of large customs brokers have already joined.

Hualing's national second-class port will take the advantages of Hualing building materials market to play the role of the Eurasia bridge bridgehead. The Hualing National Second Class Port will be built into a second-class port that is suitable for internationalization, standardization and standardization of international trade and economic activities. Hualing's second-class ports can also deal with customs clearance procedures and direct international logistics in cities such as Bishkek, Osh, Almaty, Astana, Dushanbe, Seminy, and Islamabad.
